I didn’t mean by executive order. Congress followed his ukase. As for the current president, get real. He doesn’t pass laws either. Drunken driving and the minimum age for ethanol have nothing to do with each other. That fallacy would mean that Prohibition ends drunken driving. Finally, being for keeping government out of decisions on health care has nothing to do with abortion. By that casuistry, then legal ethanol means pro-drunkenness. As for my Catholic hierarchy, it also means being pro-divorce, pro-sex etc. Government has no right to legislate private morality.
The difference between state rules could lead to some interesting situations. I went to school in Iowa, but not too far from Wisconsin. Drinking age in Iowa was 21, in Wisconsin 18; I was from Illinois, where the age was also 21. Occasionally some friends and I (over 18 but under 21) would drive up to a bar (called “The Library”, so we could tell our accusatory friends “We’re just going to the library!”), and imbibe there. Of course, only Wisconsin residents could drink in Wisconsin before they turned 21, so we had lots of ID borrowing going on from true residents to temporary residents. Fortunately, The Library was pretty liberal on enforcement: none of us were ever thrown out.Things have probably changed. I was in college about three centuries ago.
As we quietly observe the males of the species, upon entering this water hole, we see them observing the various other creatures, planning their attack on their unsuspecting prey. Their first act is to cautiously probe the other inhabitants of this most precious water hole, to ensure that their intentions have been discovered. They quietly mingle with the other animals searching for the perfect game to pursue while slaking their thirst before preparing their next moves.

So—they’ll do an expose on that bar, its workers and patrons. Will it include serving underage kids? BTW, what is the legal drinking age in Canada?

I have a feeling Weed is putting on a semi-posh accent and the waiter is NOT here for it!

Going to that place is a waste of time and these two friends of Mike’s have less brains than a rock!

I’d guess that the pubs closest to college campuses are the most picky about drinking rules.

It’s really quite impressive how Lynn is able to draw so much expression into Weed despite his not having much in the way of facial features.
