“You know why they call this place Milford, right?”
Does that make any sense? No wonder his wife is telling him to shut up.
Oh, and while I’m sure all readers know why they call the town Milford I’ll mention the origin just in case a noob has stumbled in. Berrill lived in New Milford CT when he created the strip. Nice town, but grown a lot since my wife’s grandfather built a summer home in Sherman during the Depression.
P1 A crowd of morbidly curious onlookers gather in the bowling alley parking lot as they notice what appears to be a man wedged under one of the vehicles.
P2 Cami toes the line as she attempts to practice her bowling ball levitation skills.
P3 Don’t know and don’t care, Luke. It’s as phony and made up as you are. Just taking a guess, the town’s name originated from the ford next to the mill that existed many years ago.
I recognize that bowling alley. Apparently Whiggy is a Big Lebowski fan. And BHL, the mayor of MILFord has his young trophy wife, in the parlance of our times.
It’s fairly common in TV shows for a terrifying Big Bad character to be introduced who becomes so popular that they stick around and ultimately become allies with the protagonist. In the process, they sometimes lose much of the air of menace that made them intriguing in the first place, but this is the price of existence in a medium where the story never quite ends, and each character must adapt to its eternal rhythms or die. Anyway, while I don’t think anyone found Coach Hernandez scary per se upon his introduction, I also don’t think anyone expected him to become Gil’s loyal lieutenant who promises to hook him up with the town’s finest namesake MILFs so quickly either.
This is what gets me. Luke Lunkheads hires a limo so he can take an entourage to MILFORD LANES???? There’s train wreck and there’s “it’s time to get a new train set before the Lionel engine electrocutes somebody.” I mean, Sharp Dressed Man picking up a spare with three sexy women polishing his Brunswick, nope, can’t see it.
So now Henry has lowered himself to the lowest common denominator and is using bad porn jokes. Please just do the honorable thing Henry and resign. Then we can pretend you and your sad, little “talent” were never here.

Either a few utterly clueless reader comments today… or equally clueless attempts at humor.

P3 Gilbot 9000 sizes up Frannie as a potential high value MILF target as loser Luke makes his joke.

Really, Henry? How long have you been waiting to get that one in? Now we see the REAL reason he broke up GIl’s marriage.

P-1: The Pin Setters Union has so much power, they can attach a 20 foot sign to their place of employment.
P-2: Cami flashes back to her Hoops coaching days, and dribbles her first ball of the frame.
P-3: Nudge, nudge!
P-4: No

That’s an unusual bowling technique. Next time I bowl, I’ll try dribbling the bowling ball too.

It must be pretty hot in there. Luke and Frannie were wearing turtlenecks in the limo.

So, the greatest coach on God’s green earth doesn’t know the difference between a bar and a bowling alley?
Mopman 11 months ago
What should we name our bowling alley? How about “Strike”? Genius! And speaking of genius, today’s Mopped Up Thorp is nothing short of genius.

Let’s see how many sports we can put in place of basketball season. Maybe they have a different calendar in Milf-ord.
