It’s said that if you have problems remembering your password, set it to “incorrect”. That way when you get it wrong, the computer will state “Your password is incorrect”. Besides, aren’t all passwords “************”. He, He.
The most likely way to compromise your password is through phishing AKA social engineering: “To whom it may concern. This is your bank, You know which one. We are closing your savings or checking or ATM account unless you click here right now.”
Obviously, the thing to do in this case is hang up and call your bank and say, ’Say what?"
The other way to have your password compromised is to be registered with a site that has been compromised. In this case, the thieves will try a brute force attack to crack passwords. A six character password will be cracked in seconds. A 10 character password takes a month and a 20 character password takes more time than the universe has been in existence.
It does not matter what these characters are. You do NOT need two uppercase, two lower case, two numbers, two special characters (but not all of them) to make a good password. All these are artificial requirements that make creating a password you can remember more difficult.
I don’t use passwords. I use pass phrases that normally satisfy the silly-@$$ requirement outlined above. My passwords are usually 20 characters long, plus or minus a few.
My great nephew (age about 9) was riding between his grandmother and myself going somewhere and he had been playing with her phone. Then he asked for her finger and she hadn’t been paying attention but I saw him directing her finger to the buy button for this black football face paint that he had already added to her Amazon cart and just needed to complete the buy. We caught him in time but it was pretty funny and we’re all on to him.
