An uninjured Mrs. Olsen is a happy Mrs. Olsen.

I got a pair of those for my m-i-l. Not sure she can reach her feet anymore to put them on.

We saw how she was after she broke her arm saving a kid from being run over by a car. Not that bad, in fact.

Those mini spikes work great up here.

I wear them hiking when the trails in the high Sierra begin to open late spring, never know when I might hit a patch of ice. I did have a freak fall last year when one of the spikes caught the shoelace on my other boot – effectively tying my feet together while I still had a forward momentum – and went down flat on some small rocks. VERY lucky I wasn’t injured other than a bruised knee.

Frazz shades his concern in off hand quips. Bet he got a set for Miss Plainwell too.

great for ice fishing on Lake St. Clair. If we ever get ice again…

I have some of those. Handy for when we get freezing rain.

I don’t have spikes, but shoe cables. Last week with the freezing rain I had gone out to get ready for work. With the cables on I fell re-breaking my wrist. I decided I was not going to go to work that day and took the rest of the week off.
