Somebody is using a freeze ray here. It’s COLD out there and getting colder. We’re expecting some HIGH temperatures around 0 degree F and lows to 15 below F and chill factors at 35-40 below. We had about 10 inches of snow from this Friday storm on top of the 8 inches we got on Tuesday. A coworker told me that we had 49 people call off work on Tuesday. Luckily for me, I already had that day off. But I did call off yesterday (Friday). I bet I was one of many. I spent much of today making multiple trips outside to shovel snow. I didn’t want to wait for the snow to end because it as wet heavy snow and it would have been hard to shovel. By going out every couple hours, I was doing just a couple inches at a time so it wasn’t so hard. I am so done with snow!!!
Follow-up to yesterdays’ post about Archie, the traveling cat: He got home safe and sound after a day of lovies, pets and treats at Best Friends. At first we thought ‘Well, he won’t do that again. ’ Then rethinking it and decided ’He’s a cat. Of course he will.’ But, Dr Susan will double check all carriers with kittens from now on.
If that dog doesn’t know “stay”, it certainly knows that trick now! Hope that freeze ray has an unfreeze button so they can thaw out that petrified pooch. Gotta say, the Ten Cats comics this week have been quite clever. (A little different, but clever.) On another note, saw five chickadees, two varied thrushes, a spotted towhee, a squirrel, a wren, and eight juncos while out walking today.
West Tennessee will maybe get up to 10 degrees tomorrow, with snow coming in late afternoon, continuing through Monday. I’ve got my generator charged up, four gallons of extra water in case pipes freeze. Several nights below zero coming. I’ve got 2 big carts of firewood in the kitchen to stay dry. But will fill another as soon as I’ve used half of one (putting half next to wood stove). Hope I’m prepared and will survive.

The Garagedoor guy finally came. First tried to tell me to replace the unit…nope, and I wouldn’t budge. So he repaired it.

Poor dog. It’s unable to complete it’s assignment due to cat induced paralysis. It may die of shame.
