Very very apropo. However, there is an old advertising maxim Sell the Sizzle, Not the Steak. It doesn’t apply here because Buttercup just mostly qualifies as ‘unfit for human consumption.’

Looking in from the outside into US politics, it was always ridiculous just how many lies Trump managed to produce in a single speech. He was on the news so much in the UK because the rest of the world (and half the Americans) realised he was a joke – but a dangerous one. Every time he came up on the News, the immediate thought was “Oh God, now what”. Since Biden has been in office, we get some news, but relatively little. Could be argued that’s because he doesn’t do much, or that what he does is not stupidly controversial or clearly stupid, so doesn’t make the ‘laugh at it’ section of the News. There should really be an age limit for a President. They are both too old for office. Get someone in that will actually do some good – yeah right. That will happen

Leave it to tRump to supercharge the old maxim: “Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story,”

The only thing tRump has in common with Truth is that both start with the letter T. After that they are complete strangers to one another.
