When our 9-year-old spends time with me on the couch, he leaves (1) a Velcro-armed toy on the lamp, (2) a sticker book on the end table, and (3) a dozen mini action figures stuck between the cushions.
Children have their priorities. They leave their toys laying around and when they get stepped on, laid on, or sat on, the concern is for the survival of the toy not the injury it caused.
Why is someone his age diving back first onto a couch? I doubt I could pull off that maneuver if I tried. Just sit down and this wouldn’t have happened.
