It is a sign of an aging brain to forget names for things. Forgetting names can also be due to the side effects of some medications.
It is frustrating for me, as a writer, to know that there is a better word for what I want to say, but not being able to recall it. I still have a grip on grammar, but sometimes vocabulary slips through my fingers.

We call them “things”. It’s shorter.
