When this happens to us we say we have COL. Cat On Lap. It’s a valid excuse. It came from the Pickles strip a while back.

I’ve got one in my lap right now. We got her at local adoption agency. We went into the free range room to meet another cat. I sat on the floor and this one came over climbed in my lap curled up and started to purr.

Nature’s gift is a cat on the lap.

I’d say this robot has reached sentience and is rapidly moving towards developing a soul. Caring about others not related to you is the first step.
