I’ve heard stories of people being chased down in the street in the US for giving what they considered a poor tip. Not sure how true that is.

It should be looked at as a tip-off for new customers.

A waitress’s worst fear.. that the client dies before tipping.

I was actually stopped with my guests at the door of a DC restaurant by a server who complained because I did not tip on the amount of taxes. Large meal with high taxes. Needless to say that I’ve never returned to Motzarts.
