This brings up a question I have. Does she actually live with them in their house or is she just staying with them, arriving a week early for the Easter weekend?
Well, if I were Brutus, I might prefer the preemptive strike as it gets the negative remark out of the way now without having to worry about when it’s going to fall from the sky. And, now, he has the whole day to put together a clever comeback.
Why did the hair instantly go up on the back of my neck – oh yes, it’s a Monday and Gargoyle was in the very first panel. Not a good way to start the week. Why is Gladys never around when the old bat launches her attacks (pre-emptive or otherwise)? Send her home!
Her bags would be packed and I would tell her not to be there when I returned from work. If they were, they would be on the side walk. Enough is enough.

Time to deploy pre-breakfast discipline countermeasures. Queue the music, “Ritt der Walküren”!

IMHO she was right to hush him up. Good and Morning are contradictory words.

A preemptive strike would be to accidentally pour water over her. Hey, it worked once?

Good Monday morning to his mother-in-law?

Strike while the iron is hot. Poor Brutus didn’t do nothing but just his appearance bodes evil spells from his charming MIL.

You didn’t HAVE to do anything wrong Brutus .

Must be a plastic flower on the table. Anything living would wilt that close to her.

Some people just can’t handle cheerfulness this early in the morning.

Isn’t it about time they put her in the old witches home? Someplace where all the curmudgeons can make each other miserable.

Strike her then!

The flower is leaning and begging Brutus to save it from that thing with the weird hair!
