Well, if I were Brutus, I might prefer the preemptive strike as it gets the negative remark out of the way now without having to worry about when it’s going to fall from the sky. And, now, he has the whole day to put together a clever comeback.

Why did the hair instantly go up on the back of my neck – oh yes, it’s a Monday and Gargoyle was in the very first panel. Not a good way to start the week. Why is Gladys never around when the old bat launches her attacks (pre-emptive or otherwise)? Send her home!
