Well, the moon DOES have a lot of “pits” (craters). How about calling it “pizza face” like mean kids used to call those who had a pitted, zit-filled face?
Two drunks are staggering down a street when one remarks, “The moon sure is bright tonight.” The other replies, “You’re too drunk! That isn’t the moon. It’s morning and that’s the sun!” They argue until another drunk staggers to them from the other direction. “Hey, buddy! Can you settle an argument for us? Is that the sun or the moon up there?” The third drunk squints skyward for a bit and exclaims, “How should I know? I don’t live around here!”
In the Germanic, Slavic, Baltic, and Keltic beliefs the moon is masculine and the sun is feminine. In some Andean cultures the moon is superior to the sun because it can be seen both at night and day.

Aphrodite (Greek name) and Venus (Roman name) are the same goddess.

How about changing the moon to Janis?
Pharmakeus Ubik 10 months ago
There’s already a Greek goddess of the moon, Selene. Aphrodite’s got plenty on her plate already.

Selene was the Greek Goddess of the Moon.

Aphrodite’s Roman name is Venus. So, technically, the name is taken.

If I were going to name the Moon, I would name it after my wife. Her beauty has not faded over the years and her love is timeless.

Was that Janis who named her car Brad? Liberty, Liberty, Liberty, … liberty. Time for a happy dance for “Janis Moon.”

How about Eros?

After much thought and deliberation I think Emanuel would be good. “Manny the Moon” just kind of rolls off the tongue doesn’t it?

Another name for Aphrodite is Venus, though, and that name is very much taken.

I’d always thought the moon was Luna, and the sun, Sol.

Arlo and Janis if the moon is romantic it needs no name just the acts of love!

“I see a bad Brad Pitt rising.” “When the Brad Pitt hits your eye like a big pizza pie…” No, I don’t think so.

How would Janis react if Arlo suggested Selena Gomez, Margot Robbie, Jennifer Lawrence, or another reasonably attractive actress?

Would the moon’s craters be called “Brad Pits”?

The Moon already has a name. It’s been called “Luna” for centuries.

I agree with you. Pitt isn’t even that good looking. I never saw what others did. The moon needs a more majestic name.
