My dear Mother-in-Law bought food items on sale that she had no real use for. And then when her pantry became full of such stuff, she would ‘gift’ us with them. I once caught her checking to see if I had thrown out any of it. She recently passed … and this is my opportunity. (Pathetic, isn’t it?)

Pluggers know that it’s better to have it and not use it than not have it and need it.;-D

I’d always been led to believe pluggers were thrifty. This doesn’t sound thrifty.

No Way ! …. We try to buy only that which will be used ;-)

Often, when I receive coupons I know I won’t use, I’ll leave them on the shelf in the grocery store, right next to the item. That way, at least someone will save some money.

I only buy what is necessary. Yes, that blueberry pie was necessary: absolutely, 100%, critically necessary. I am sure of it…

I’ve learned to stop buying what I want, and buy only what I need. But, buying something what you neither want nor need? Utterly wasteful.

Failed again. I haven’t used a coupon in years, although I got one with my last purchase of kibble and I might use it before it expires.

Said no plugger ever.

Close but no cigar for me. I’ll by the stuff and will eventually use it. Dried bean curd aka dried Tofu – yuck!

My mom. She would go into the market with a fistful and more than once she would be PAID. Post Depression era residuals.

From today’s Comics Curmudgeon:

No! No!!! I don’t care how cheap they are — a plugger would never purchase tofu, do you hear me? Never! Never!!!!

As a fellow Pennsylvanian, I approve this message. I ain’t proud of it, but I’ve seen it.

If you ever see a coupon (in a non-Asian market) for bean curd, let me know. Not going to happen.

Coupons. Bah. Humbug. They always seem to be for stuff I either don’t use, or can’t afford even with the coupon.

I do this once in a while. Not for the coupons but to try something new. It keeps things interesting.
