Spend an hour cooking dinner and maybe you’ll understand.

I have yet to find a gel that doesn’t make me gag. I rely on frozen orange slices.

Nicely said, Frazz, though Miss Plainwell might be annoyed about that last part.

Serious cyclist I knew did all the food fads that were current, ie the gatorade types of drinks and power bars and gels etc etc, then realized he had the same effects with plain water and bananas! the Kiss principle!!

    “You runners and bike types”

Hilarious because that’s some thing an elementary age kid would actually say.

Have pizza. It’s actually fast, cheaper, and is better food. Grab a sandwich from a deli. Same thing. And they’re local stores, not a giant corporate monolith.

What kills me is all the idling at drive-through lanes. We should all know better, right? In Canada, Tim Horton’s is probably way up there as a cause of GHG emissions.

She’ll be more disappointed when she finds out that “fast food” was a 5th Ave marketing slogan…

As I recall, there were jokes about the “fast” food when the places first became a thing.

McDonalds is fast food. Culvers is not, and shouldn’t have a drive through. Apologies to non-Midwesterners unfamiliar with Culvers.

In re panel 2: If you don’t have to wash your hands and change your shirt when you’re done, you haven’t really had a sandwich!

But you won’t find one at a fast “food” joint no matter how messy it is.

Society eats so much junk food that eating real food is considered dieting

Years ago, on a scouting hike, I took several bunches of grapes. Even others with canteens wound up borrowing from my “supplies”. I only had to keep them in a small, rigid container.

Fuel me once, shame on me; fuel me twice…

Oh, wait, that’s a different saying.

As a kid (who didn’t know better), I always thot that fast food was what my Catholic friends ate during Lent.

If more people took the approach that food is fuel, and only fuel, the rate of obesity in this country could be cut in half

Fast Fuel is a gas station.

I remember a restaurant at a mall that is nearly empty while the county debates what they will spend to convert it into county offices and facilities. Back when there were actually stores the place had a sign saying it’s not fast food it’s good food and another sign saying we appreciate your patience.

Unfortunately, we recently had a marathon and runners ate from the packets and threw them on the ground along the route they were running on. They were everywhere. Some were on the ground around garbage cans. Our park system had to clean them up when the race was over. They even threw paper cups on the ground as well!!!
