Back in the days when there was a Waldenbooks at the mall, I used to buy paperback books for each Star Trek and Star Wars series. The clerk who checked my books out was surprised that I liked both and didn’t pick a side.
I got into FarScape because of it’s non-hominid aliens. They lost me as they went more into multispectral hominids (ala Star Trek) and away from the oddities that originally attracted me.
Star Trek was the more philosophical, while Star Wars more represents human behavior, bad human behavior, but still more accurate. We look for heroes to save us from ourselves instead of being different. Thank you Miss Lucille Ball.
Hmm… I enjoyed about half of the first season of Star Trek. The only TV SF series I’ve enjoyed is The Expanse. Oh, Red Dwarf was pretty good too. I think of Doctor Who as a comic book and enjoy it for that. I saw the first 3 Star Wars movies. They’re great Saturday morning serials with high production values.

Star Trek. Never got into Star Wars. Too kiddish for my tastes. Trek was more for adults.

I enjoy them both. They are separate genres of fantasy. Star Trek is “Future Earth”, while Star Wars is “Alternate Reality”.

Geeze I’m noticing that all the women at this workplace are built like brick you know what’s and the guys all look like skinny ruffled up Einsteins.

If you prefer Wars, you aren’t a real geek anyway.
