“Can you believe I’ve never been hit in the fact with a pie before?” This is certainly a very different comic strip to Garfield.

Sometimes you just need to roll with the inevitable.

Mom: “Ok Spud. Your tip – Don’t spray all the whipped cream up your nose, this time.”

Shaving cream is cheaper….but don’t taste as good!

You are now aware that silent movie actress Mabel Normand is credited with throwing the first pie.

What a nice mom.

Sometimes Spud is just a tad too Spudlike.

Whipped cream will also spoil and stink rather quickly. Believe me, I learned the hard way.

We did this as a fund raiser while I was in the Army. “Throw a pie in the Captain’s Face!” All the senior leaders got their turn. Things got…boisterous, whipped cream applied DEEPLY into hair and places it should not go (ears). It was a pretty good time, honestly.

Then we had a staff meeting. By the end of the meeting we all smelled like curdled milk.

This past Wednesday Will Henry gave a lovely presentation at the Narragansett (RI) public library. He talked about his creative process, had a Q&A session, drew Wallace and seagull on a large pad, and signed books. His young kids were there (adorable), and his wife is drop dead gorgeous. He is as kind and gentle as his characters (excluding Sterling, of course!) it was an engaging presentation.

I have. 9 times in a row. Chocolate cream.

Shaving cream is easier to clean up and doesn’t attract flies. That’s what they use in the movies for pie throwing.

Spud’s got the right idea. More money for pinball and a slice of cake from the pub.

Everything was going great until that tip thing…..

Mom is cool but Spud is about to spoil the moment! Hope Wallace chooses a friend who can do it up right. Spud would end up hitting himself in the face.
