If he expects presents from Jon, he should still be nice to him.

Calvin from “Calvin and Hobbes” would certainly agree with this. He loves Christmas but is stressed out in the build-up to Christmas as he has to be good or at least fake being good.

Same as Easter.

Funny thing is that Jon loves Garfield despite all the daily antics Garfield pulls.

I hated that aspect of Christmas as a child; it made me paranoid and almost afraid to do anything. I decided not to raise my daughters that way & did away with that whole bit.

And silly old me stopped celebrating birthdays after 1982. Sigh Does not feel like I am missing out on something.

The best loophole of all really

Time goes by so fast, so you really don’t have to wait that long for your birthday or Christmas.

Only five months and 28 shopping days until The❤️Count’s birthday!

Every day is a birthday if you celebrate and live your life.

How about gifting Garfield exercise equipement? Nah, he’d ignore it.

And I who thought that Santa was always watching?

With B’days, presents come from friends. Just how many gift giving friends does Garfield have that he hasn’t ticked off?

My birthday was actually a month after Garfield’s.

Not if your birthday is 2 weeks before Christmas!

My birthday is in July. As a kid, we were frequently on vacation over my birthday, but it was OK because at the restaurants I could usually get about 5 birthday treats; My birthday is in 2 days, my birthday is tomorrow, today is my birthday, my birthday was yesterday, my birthday was 2 days ago. Two days was about as far as I could push it.

And, if you’re born in June like Garfield, you get presents on both halves of the year.

One of the better strips in a comic that has been on autopilot for several years.

That’s only because, compared to Santa, Jon is a lot easier for Garfield to push around. Some folks had tougher parents. Mine weren’t like that, but I’m still pretty sure I wouldn’t have seen any birthday presents if I pulled some of the stuff Garfield does.

The Law of Carternity applies, so Garf has outlived the normal feline life span. 3 of our cats lived past 18, so Garfield is definitely living well.
