In order for the people to win, the prosecution needs to hit 12 for 12 with the jury.

In order for Trump to win, the defense has to hit 1 for 12.

A hung jury means that a retrial can be held, but MAGAs will claim “Total exoneration” because ONLY 11 out of 12 people think that Trump was guilty.

Do not forget, on appeal, Trump is guilty until proven innocent.

Judge seems to be granting Buttercup a lot of leeway before actually putting his butt in jail. Looks like 10 marks for disregarding the gag order would be enough. Actually 4 or 5 should have done it. But I think judge also is trying to avoid hanging up the trial on appeals, etc. Good if it works, not so good otherwise.

Wonder how Buttercup would fare in prison. Probably get sequestered in his own hotel with room service of all kinds.

This case is based on whether Trump thought he was paying to violate election campaign funding laws/corporate records (which, although a misdemeanor under NY state law has never been used in NY in a federal election case, much less calling it a felony). For Stormy, this should have been one simple yes or no question, but the prosecutor wanted to embarrass and impugn Trump’s character by being a voyeur in Trump’s bedroom (a mental image no one needs). My hope is the NY jury finds him not guilty, or else appeals on a guilty verdict will push this salacious part of the Trump circus into 2025 and the media will, of course, focus on this Trump story over the legitimate actions against him.

Throw him in jail for a few days.. without his security team. Bet a doughnut he gets spanked.

Another option for Judge Merchan is to put TFG in an orange suit and have him pick up trash for several hours a day in Central Park for a couple of weeks. This has actually been done to out of line defendants before. TFG wants to use jail time as a vote getter from his MAGA crowd. This would be publicly demeaning and shown on all TV excepting Fox News and Fox wannabe channels.

The judge can jail him for contempt after the trial no matter the verdict.

I really feel sorry for the Judge. He’s facing a no-win situation.

Put him in jail for contempt, Judge. You’re a paper tiger if you don’t.

If II were on the jury, I would be influenced in Trump’s favor by the details of Daniels’ testimony. It was necessary to have her specify the time, place, and that sexual activity took place, then she was paid to stay silent about it. All that was accomplished by specific details of that activity is to make her look vindictive and Trump sympathetic. That fact also provides a basis for declaring a mistrial, which is the only reason I can imagine that would have made the defense allow it.

And, I am as totally TDS as it is possible to be. I hate him more than I have hated anyone in about the last 30 years. It was a stupid mistake to give the jury any reason to feel sorry for him.

Today (05/09/2024) in the Manhattan tRump trial Stormy’s cross examination went so well for the prosecution that tRump’s lawyer immediately asked the judge to let donnie out of the gag order so he could disparage her. He also petitioned the court for a mistrial because he said her testimony would prejudices the jury. It demonstrates the weakness of Donnie von Sh!tzinpants’s defence that they are desperate to avoid sending this to the jury for a decision. Donnie also brought in Rick Scott, a United States Senator, to stand outside the courthouse and say the garbage TFG could get time in jail for saying. In doing this Scott embarrassed the Senate, his home state of Florida and the human race.
