What a sad state of affairs. His MAGATS believe his lies. The don’t care about the truth and the crimes he has committed. They have no conscience when it comes to him. He’s got them flummoxed.
Finchelstein, according to Michel, identifies four “primary characteristics” of fascism and lays out some reasons why “Trump and the other budding autocrats rising alongside him” are “so dangerous.”
The four pillars of fascism that Finchelstein identifies in his book are xenophobia, propaganda, political violence, and dictatorship.
In his new book, “The Wannabe Fascists: A Guide to Understanding the Greatest Threat to Democracy,” historian/author Federico Finchelstein examines authoritarian movements around the world — and cites Donald Trump’s MAGA movement as an example.
According to Michel, Trump has “clearly built out planks” of the first three but “has been unable to construct a full dictatorship.”
“In that sense…. Trump is simply an aspiring fascist, rather than a fully realized one,” Michel argues. “He is, as Finchelstein writes, a ‘populist aspirant to fascism’ — or…. a ‘wannabe fascist.’”
Ya gotta believe that Disaster Pumpkin’s lawyers are pleading with him nonstop “For God’s sake, don’t take the stand. Never do it! Don’t give them the ability to cross-examine you. Remember that perjury is a felony.” But that advice is going to run head-on to his (perfectly true) contention of “So what? They’ll never be able to bring a case like that to trial!”. So at some point I expect to see him stepping to the front of the courtroom, prepared to raise his hand and swear a solemn (and legally binding oath), dragging along with him an attorney wrapped around each leg begging him not to.

I noticed he’s not been wearing a red tie to the trial. I’m sort of surprised he owns pink, light blue, etc.

Drawn to scale, his mid-face protrusion would rival the greatest sequoia of the Pacific northwest.

I see that Trump brought along his emotional support animals… including Maga Mike Johnson, all dressed to match their owner.
