My son always went with the beat of a different drum, same with his childhood friends. Bullies in school learned to leave him alone, a few years of instilling confidence in many forms of the Martial Arts was worth the expense. Today he is a Brown Belt in BJJ and MMA.
Agree! My youngest, who’s now 35, was a black belt (child version) in Korean Taekwondo by the time he was 9. It took much more serious training to do that as an adult.. but he had lots of friends growing up. He did not pursue the training as an adult due to health issues. (type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis.)
