The only time that being in the rain didn’t bother me, was Fishing …… Then again it probably was because I didn’t get a chance to do it very often, so was going to enjoy it no matter what ….. :)

It’s been difficult finding a time when it wasn’t raining to do yard work this spring, but my lilies have about 120 buds on them. In about a week and a half, it’s going to all be worth it.

They’re lucky to have Cagney. My Yorkie hates rain with a yelping passion.

Then there’s the smoke from nearby forest fires. I prefer rain.

Aw man, and here I thought for a sec they were taking a moment to thank those that sacrificed for us so that we would be free to DO those things. Poignant to even stand in the rain and give thanks

Fishing is usually good for a while after it starts to rain, before the water gets muddy.

And that, folks, is the exact picture of the number one reason I moved to Arizona. Most of the time the rain stays back up in Michigan where, as far as I’m concerned, it belongs. When in my first month of living down here, I met with the neighborhood association which was planning a block party about six months in advance, and they discussed the date, I made the comment, “And shouldn’t we schedule a rain date?” the whole group all but laughed. It was at that moment that any remaining doubt I had as to whether I had moved to the right place utterly vanished. After 40 years of ark-worthy weekends and vacations, to be able to schedule events six months out with negligible to no fear of rain meant I had reached the Promised Land.

When I was a kid my mother loved When it rained. Her 4 children, aged 9 and under would put on their swimsuits and run and slide on the lawn, giving her a well deserved breather.
