It’s been downhill since Nixon’s Gang of Four as individual rights began to shrink and the corporations took over. It was a brief period between FDR’s Hugo Black and LBJ’s Thurgood Marshall, a mere thirty years, when the Court actually expanded our rights.
The current court never had any real credibility. Each justice should be required to explain how the Constitution affected their ruling. Even Roberts bending over backwards to not overrule ACA needed better Constitutional justification. It wasn’t his job to say the penalty was a tax to make it legal when liberals said it wasn’t.
Roberts may as well raise the distress flag. The SCOTUS 6 don’t believe in the America that exists now and in practice. He’s leading the Court that has lost its legitimacy and credibility. Alito and Thomas are corrupt as clear as day and as the day is long. Their unwillingness to develop an enforcement procedure for their belated rendering of an ethics code has exacerbated the corruption. I might have thought that the 2000 Bush v. Gore was a one-off as the Court then expressed, but we now know for sure that the Republican intent all along was to corrupt the halls of ‘justice’ to further their own aims: Their attitude is that the law and the majority be d-mned!
5 of the 6 “justices” in the current supermajority on the Subprime Court testified under oath at their Senate confirmation hearings that Roe v. Wade was “settled law”, “established precedent”, and “a recognized constitutional right under the principle of stare decisis” and that they’d never ever do anything to overturn it. Then, at the first opportunity (which they practically begged to have brought before them) they did exactly that. I’m not sure how much respect they can possibly have for the rule of law and truth when they’re such blatant perjurers (in the vernacular: liars) themselves!
Latest news on the political front is that Disaster Pumpkin appeared before the convention of the national Libertarian Party to ask them to nominate him for president, but he hadn’t taken the time to file the paperwork declaring himself an official candidate for the role. Kinda speaks to Mr. Preparation’s attention to detail, doesn’t it?
Traitor Trump was never a libertarian. For most of his worthless life he was mostly reactionary and a little radical. Now, of course, he is full-on fascist.
Well, today is Memorial Day, when we pay our respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in military service to our country. Most of us think of them as heroes, but a former commander in chief calls them “losers” and “suckers”. Not just the ones who were killed, anyone who served at all! So if you’re a veteran, that’s what he thinks of YOU. And if you know some vets, that’s what he thinks of THEM. So do remember that on Nov. 5, when you’ll have a very meaningful opportunity to indicate what you think of HIM!
The Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation make the rulings, the SCOTUS Six figure out how to mangle case law and precedent and the Constitution to make it fit. Trump and McConnell can take credit for creating the worst, most unethical SCOTUS in our history.

If you think the Supreme Court is bad now, imagine them with two or three more Trump appointees.

The intention of Roberts isn’t to fly the flag at half mast. He’s actually pulling it all the way down so he can put it in that casket and bury it.

The SC has veered off course and hit the iceberg. John Roberts is playing the role of Edward Smith admirably.

Finally, the blindfold has been removed from lady Justice and she can see how ugly she looks in the Supreme Court!

The majority of the Supreme Court has become a disgrace. Sad times we’re living in.

Roberts has become the court jester thanks to T and the Federalist Society. The new robes will come in orange with red stripes.

Used to be, the corruption was kept behind doors, now they’re doing it out in public, like dogs on the front lawn.

A little thot on the eve of Memorial Day: Which recent US president referred to people serving in the military as “losers” and “suckers”?

You hire a bunch of unqualified clowns and you get a bad circus. The "C’ in SCOTUS has a new meaning.

At minimum 4 Supreme Court Justices should be impeached and removed from the bench.

Sadly accurate.

That’s what happens when 2/3 of the justices make blatantly partisan, legally unsupportable decisions in case after case after case…
