I think we may have missed the setup for this joke where Elizabeth tells April that she does not want her to put one foot into her room. Frankly April’s feet look so deformed, I wouldn’t want them in my room either.
April needs someone close to her age to play with. The large age gap between the two girls means that companionship-wise, April is an only child, and apparently, April only goes to daycare twice a year. She’s bored AND lonely.
