Dear younger progressive voters, this could be your world if you decide to skip the election or vote for anyone not called Joe Biden.

I don’t love Joe and I really, really, really hope the DNC has NOT put up the ONLY candidate that can lose to DJT. But let us remember the character of DJT, he is a narcissistic authoritarian who lusts for the power and prestige of the office of POTUS while having no desire to serve the PEOPLE. If elected he will do all he can to stay in office or place a puppet that he can control (just like he is currently totally controlling the RNC).

Donald Trump offered oil executives the reversal of some of President Joe Biden’s climate policies upon the former president’s reelection in exchange for campaign contributions, specifically $1 Biillion dollars.

The chairs of the Senate Finance and Budget committees announced in a joint statement Thursday that they have sent letters to nine oil companies, including ExxonMobile and Chevron, asking for additional information related to a fundraiser event where Trump allegedly sought $1 billion in campaign contributions in return for promises of policy changes to benefit their companies.

That is the “quid pro quo” that is illegal. The way this is supposed to work is that the candidate puts out statements of what he intends to do and people donate based on liking or disliking what he says. It’s a simple rule, and whether the donation is a bribe or not is mostly in the mind of the donor. Trump, instead, announced it at a meeting of oil execs.

I don’t know how the GOP allowed this to happen. They should know campaign rules better than I do. Trump is either too stupid to understand the rules, or he has lived so long with the notion that rules don’t apply to him that he is simply unable to realize that they do. This is why we was guilty of 34 legal violations, and why he seems to be unable to stop behaving illegally, and worse yet, unable to at least stop doing it on tape.

Doubt he’ll live that long. If not for modern medicine it’s not likely he’d be alive now. However, if by another twist of fate Traitor Felon Rapist Trump is made president again, it will be his VP that will continue the Repubs path to total rule and fascism. It seems the whole party is all in on fascism and cruelty. Much as he will ‘choose’ this VP, those pulling his strings will make that choice for him. Will be interesting to see.

Appearing on MSNBC’s “The Weekend,” Phang made a comparison to the film “Weekend at Bernie’s” where a recently deceased businessman is passed off as still being alive.

Speaking with the hosts of “The Weekend,” she explained Trump’s Friday 40-minute rant probably pleased prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

“The fact that there was the defiance of the gag order yesterday, he violated it during deliberations, during opening arguments,” she elaborated. “Just because you didn’t see the DA’s office file a motion doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.”

“I think people need to understand, when I say that what we see is old and tired — it literally is,” she explained further. “What we saw yesterday with Donald Trump had ‘’Weekend at Bernie’s” energy. I mean, he is old and decrepit and I will stand by that. He is definitely the shadow of what he was four years ago, but we cannot underestimate the danger of what he says and what he does."

Maybe things aren’t going well for us right now because we’re debating which 19th century ideas will work best in the 21st century.
