Senator Batsin D. Belfry long predates the current political turmoil. The “GREAT” Senator Edward (Teddy) Kennedy was a man of great political power and ambition. He was also more than a bit overweight and connected with some scandalous activities. Jeff MacNelly based his portrayal of the bumbling Senator from East Virginia partly on him.
