Disgusting! A new low for you Ted. America under Trump will roll over for Putin yet Ukraine has the integrity to keep fighting for its freedom. Perhaps you actually deserve an America run by Trump.

    Panel 1:

Presidential elections were held in Ukraine on 31 March 2019. As none of the 39 candidates on the ballot received an absolute majority of the initial vote, a runoff was held on 21 April between the top two vote-getters, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a television personality, and the incumbent president, Petro Poroshenko. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), Zelenskyy won the second round with 75% of the vote. The elections were recognized as free and fair by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

    Panel 2:

    Sad but true :-(

    Panel 3:

    WTF.

Ted, you might mention the incredible amount of corruption on the part of that “democratically elected president”, as documented in the files dumped in the river when said president was fleeing to your benefactor for protection.

Even more disgusting than your normal.

The country was created by rebelling against Communist dictators, not democratically elected presidents. If you’re referring to 2014 (which was not when it was created) the president was unanimously impeached, unless you believe Putin – which apparently you do.

Ted, since I know that you know the realities involved, I truly can’t imagine what your motive could be/have been for this if it wasn’t just to wind people up. But even as a wind-up, it’s unworthy of you.

Ukrainians dissed then VP Biden’s words following his 12/9/2015 lecture.

What makes Biden think anything has changed in Ukraine’s government?

He is again kicking a dead horse.

Armed conflict between the Colonists and the British started in April, 1775.

We stumbled along, for years, with a bunch of guys who called themselves “The Continental Congress” leading us. While honored today as the Founding Fathers these men were not actually part of a truly elected government reoresenting ALL the American people.

We managed to survive on loans from banks and private individuals for much of the early days of the war. It was not until after the Battle of Saratoga, in the fall of 1777, that we managed to convince an ally to send troops to fight alongside our own.

My point is that when your COUNTRY is facing a war with a much more powerful nation you make sacrifices. You cut corners. You do things you regret.

Russia is not, and never will be, our friend. In better days they could be called “Friendly Competition”. But those days are long gone.

Sure, negotiate a peace agreement with a neighboring nation which invaded you without cause. Makes perfect sense. And Ukraine is not justified in attacking military targets within Russia either … /s

Nice piece from the Russophile…………………………I got to catch Wednesday’s DMZ Podcast from the joy brothers. The themes were Canada wringing it’s hands over the possibility of the U.S. having another civil war. I’m surprised that they didn’t unearth the ghost of William Seward, who, as a member of Lincoln’s cabinet, liked to promote an end to the War Between the States by everyone ceasing aiming their weapons at each other and instead attacking their neighbor to the North. Now that would make the Canucks (can I write this word without being derisive?) nervous. The two also skewed stats to suggest that most elderly Americans would end up eating cat food (I mean maybe dog food, right?). Anyway, it occurred to me that I can’t really think of many positive topics that these guys have ever addressed. I guess that says it all. They also did actually address the immigrant mess, an area on which we agree. We need immigrants in this country.

Sometime before Russia invaded Ukraine a Russian general said that very thing, that “Ukraine isn’t a real country.” He said Ukraine was a “deluded state of mind.” Would you believe a Russian general over millions of Ukrainians who are fighting for their “delusion”? Probably Ted and I could both name more than one country that’s flawed, but they’re still countries.

Israel could gain the support of an American political cartoonist / media influencer (podcaster), and get some much needed positive PR, if it starts subsidizing Rall cartoons a la Putin. Unless Israel does this, Ted Rall will continue to accuse Israel of “genocide” against Palestinians.

Even though Netanyahu’s Gaza pogrom is quite similar (although more extreme, with both far more total infrastructure destruction and higher per capita death / injury numbers) to the one Putin is carrying out against Ukraine.

IOKIPDI. In Ted Rall world, what is taking place in Gaza is “genocide” (~35,000 non-combatant Palestinians in 7 months vs [estimated] 6,000,000 Jews 1939-1945, so genocide is playing pretty fast and loose with that term), but civilian deaths and infrastructure demolition / damage in Ukraine as a result of a totally unprovoked (Putin deceitful propaganda Ukraine provocation claims are total bull-shista) and Putin-ordered Russian invasion Is OK If Putin Does It.

Yes, a democratically elected president that stole the country’s wealth for himself and wouldn’t leave office. At which point, a coup became necessary in order to reassert the voting rights of the people. This stuff isn’t that difficult.

Ukraine is a semi-presidential republic with an elected, and re-elected, by the people, president Zelenskyy. The previous president left his office and country for Russia. Biden knows Zelenskyy can handle negotiations for what is indeed his legally recognized COUNTRY.

Mr. Rall, it’s pathetic that you have sunk to rehashing Putin’s propaganda. Ukraine was well on its way to becoming a prosperous, democratic and Westward-leaning independent republic when the Russian wannabe Tsar decided he had to make it part of his imaginary reconstituted empire. Neville Chamberlain would be proud of you.
