If there’s a pecking order in the animal kingdom, the woodpecker should be on top of that, right?

You get fed when Zig gets around to it!

I’m afraid they are reflecting your attitude, Zig!

The food chain is a simplification. In reality, it’s more of a food web.

The cat will eat both the parrot and the fish. What will the dog eat?

… says the one who’s at the top of the pecking order.

[Well maybe not: Ziggy gets pecked on a lot.]

Unless they get a beaver. They can all eat the beaver.

Ok – lets settle this. Bird eats fish: cat eats bird: dog eats cat. There! settled!

But who is where on the totem pole?

Then…Ziggy had K-9 for dinner.

It’s great to have an understanding with your pet(s) at once before they have control of you (LOL – they always have control of the owner. No matter who the pet is!)

Ziggy just let them fight it out. Who ever ends up on top is you new pet.

I should note only the bird (Josh) would "peck"—and not even then as he’s a parrot.
