No problem. You can put on whatever siding you want, once you pay me.

Ma’am, your pet parrot just shat all over my new boots. You need to either buy me a new pair or I’m having talking-chicken for dinner.

You seem to be spending a lot of time around the bathroom window. Take a picture, it’ll last longer.

When Sammy put the whitewash on the walls,

He got a lot of it on his overalls

He sloshed in though the open windows,

He stuck doors into their jambs and lintels,

He even dripped whitewash on napping Grampa Boz!

    .

When Sammy dripped the whitewash off the walls,

Those passing by slipped in it and took nasty falls

And now they’re all put up in traction,

With broken arms and legs due to the action

When Sammy put the whitewash on the walls.

I wonder if this was anything like when you are stopped in traffic and a raggedy guy comes out of nowhere and starts “cleaning” your windshield.

Oooh, I worked for a home builder one summer who made a custom house for a couple that operated this way. The day I started, they wanted all the railings on the deck removed because “they’re ugly”. Carpenter explained they would have to put a step down all the way around the 350 square feet of the deck, due to building codes and maybe replace the boards along the edges and was told to get it done. A week later they didn’t like that and wanted “a regular deck”.

The whole house (two floors, 6 bedrooms) was plastered. A crew of about 10 workers came in and put the plaster up by hand. Upon inspection, the wife didn’t like how one of the swirls looked smaller than the ones around it and ordered it re-done. The builder explained that meant the whole house because it is impossible to fix one spot of plaster. She argued, he finally said “even god doesn’t make a perfect tree every time” and walked away and the small swirl was allowed to stay.

The husband complained to me once they were far too over budget on the house. But it wasn’t my place in the company hierarchy to get into arguments with the clients, so I was forced to say nothing.

    Whitewashing the Old House

    Paste (including the quote marks)

    "Category:Whitewash" Wikimedia

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, Brave, and Yandex search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Category: found and once there find the text string KMS4223, and click its link for info and links that point to more info about this large painting.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3339 (June 17, 2024) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to the blog entry with my comments pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 3 works by him have been used here, the January 18, 2022, strip being the prior.
