Jeepers creepers!

The word “jeep” was used in the Popeye comic strip before General Purpose vehicles were invented and became known as jeeps. Hal Segar who created Popeye is credited with the creation of the words “goon” and “jeep”. The Buck Rogers comic strip is credited with inventing the word “zap”.

The Count owns two. In addition to the Mercedes Countmobile.

Just curious: why when I hit “like” it gives the toon 2-3 points rather than 1? I am only one person.

Many years ago I lived in Green River, WY. It is an area with many Buttes. I was also on the local volunteer ambulance crew. One weekend some kids attempted to take their Jeep up the slope of a Butte and powered out about half way up a long and steep slope. They attempted to back down, got scared, and tried to turn around on that steep slope. Gravity took over at that point and the Jeep rolled the rest of the way down. We were called to the wreck. Fortunately the Jeep had a substantial roll bar and the kids were wearing seat belts. Unfortunately while they survived, the seat belts allowed them to bounce around inside the roll cage. They looked like someone had taken a baseball bat to them and put knots, bruises and black eyes on each one from head to toe.

Mother Nature is a harsh mistress, and her lessons can be painful.

Several years ago I saw a great bumper sticker on a Jeep Cherokee: “Don’t kid yourself, it’s a station wagon.”

I have enjoyed variations I saw on boats.

I saw that right side up on a Jeep many years ago. Driver did not use a seatbelt. I told the 911 dispatcher to have whoever she sent to bring a body bag.

You can have jeep. I keep cute horsie.

My daughter has a Jeep. These people are different! Somebody left a tiny rubber duck on her car recently, and the last owner put multicolor rubber duck valve stem covers on it. I had to look up the whole duck thing.

Since I can read his bumper sticker, can I flip him over?

when my older brother came back from Vietnam, he insisted everyone in the car wear their set belts whenever we went anywhere, he said it made it easier for the ambulance people to find the bodies

Nothing original here. That is an actual sign. I have seen on many jeeps.
