Jeez Holly, how about saying, âiâm sorry, we were messing about and it was an accidentâ instead of whining that your mother is useless because she hasnât got insurance to replace the TV?
I never had a clothing allowance, had to pay for all my own clothes, school supplies, pictures, and student body card, toothpaste and shampoo from age 10 up. Bean picking, babysitting, etc.
âPaying off Christmasâ is a chunk of the problem, too. If you canât pay the credit card off COMPLETELY the next time a payment is due, you spent what you could not afford. Christmas is NOT an emergency, and thatâs the ONLY excuse one should have for carrying a balance. If you insist on a stupid expensive gift-purchasing bender, instead of putting yourself into debt, put money into a separate bank account with each paycheck. If you get paid weekly, $25 saved and not touched each week will get you over $1200. $50 saved will get you over $2500.
I just realized that âbirth controlâ should really be called âpregnancy control.â True birth control would be very dangerous to both mother and child.
OK. This is one of the things you must never say to children. I was fifty when my Mom said my younger brother was an âaccidentâ. It hit him pretty hard.
