Doesn’t anybody test anymore??? The CEO of CrowdStrike, and the managers of, along with the programmers who created this fiasco should be fired and blacklisted. When I was a programmer we would try to break it with testing before we moved changes into production.
At the height of the problem, it was reported that the wait time for a customer service agent at Delta was 8 hours. Glad I am driving to a quick weekend getaway and not flying. We were caught up in a Southwest melt down 2 years ago. That was bad enough.
I have always said that computers are the work of the devil (and yes, I have been doing the devil’s work for over 60 years). What, you say: Haven’t you seen someone (perhaps yourself) sitting at a computer keyboard taking the Lord’s name in vain? All the time.
Just got back from Wyoming. We made it to Denver with no problem, but our flight to Boston was canceled for some reason (another later scheduled flight left with no problem). We got rebooked to Hartford and my son had to drive two hrs to pick us up at 12:30. Made it to bed by 3.

With what happened today with all the cancellations and delays at the airports, this isn’t funny.

Instead of updates, they need to upgrade their operating system to something newer than Windows 3.1

How timely today, with the computer foul-ups, and I have a friend flying!

Lets get them so worried about cyberattacks that they rush out “security updates” so fast they become the cyber attack.

Everywhere I worked, whether in military or as a civilian, the IT’s would test patches and releases on an offline system before implementing them.

And don’t forget to make the gate change to a terminal on the other side of the airport.

I always wondered who ran the Atlanta airport.

“No. No. See that would give them time to get to the gate… ON THE OTHER END OF THE CONCOURSE!”
“Instead, change gates, but make the departure SOONER! HAR HAR HAR!!!”
