Gasp! The big reveal. Something different for this strip.

Envious, not jealous.

Grandma Green was fairly bald by the time we met. I told people I looked like my father and my father looked like his mother and she was UGGGLLLY.

Their response was that she must have been. Some things are just self evident.

That was shocking. I’ve read this strip for ten years and that might be the biggest surprise yet.

I keep telling my wife she’d look beautiful bald or short hair. She both loves and hates her thick hair.

HaHa ! But the $ saved on shampoo gets spent on wax.

Hopefully future strips show the reactions of the other characters. Especially Roscoe with his expressions!

I got my first buzzcut as an adult about 20 years ago. Haven’t grown it back since. Low maintenance rules!

Hope she didn’t lose her hair b/c of taking chemo. Wigs are horribly hot to wear.

Chemotherapy was my first reaction. My last wife lost her hair a couple of times before the cancer won out. One of her best friends told her, “You have a beautiful head!” I’m now married to a woman who years before I met her survived breast cancer and the hair loss that went with it.

Jaw drop. Chemo ?

How did Opal not know her sister was bald??

I was bald last summer. I must admit, it was nice on very hot days. I did buy a wig, but it felt like a steel pot scrubber sitting on my scalp, so I just used scarves and kercheifs for going out in public.

Eeek! Flashback to my wife’s chemo. Oddly, her gray hair grew back her original black.

I started to go bald at 19, at 76 I still have a wisp of hair on top. So I am not bald

My Aunt Fanny always wore a wig. The first time I saw her without it was a shock — was was balder than I am!

Exactly what I’d probably do myself if I were a woman. And I wouldn’t even wear the wig unless I were in public!

I saw THX1138 when it first came out in theaters. The whole cast had to shave their heads for the film. I loved the idea so about 6 years later I shaved my head and it felt so great! Did it again when my sister had chemo, got a very nice photo of us.

Oh no, is Pearl on chemotherapy?

I have two friends who suddenly went completely bald (both women). One grew back most of her hair a few years later, but felt it wasn’t thick enough, so she wears a buzz cut. The other has a nice, lush-looking wig. I hope I am not a carrier. I still have a lot of long hair myself. There’s a third friend, but she had chemo, and it came back a different color and very curly, for a while.
