Someone parked a dumpster in front of my parents house, a neighbor obviously. Why in front of my parents house, I don’t know, they may have asked, many years ago. Someone threw a bunch of fish in it and it stunk to high heavens. My father climbed in it to get the fish and bury them in his garden.

When we lived on the Siuslaw River when I was a kid, my mom would bury the dead fish that washed up on the mud flats to feed her shrubs and plants. They were all gorgeous!
