Sad but he has Annie and 9 brothers and sisters in his found family

I just knew he had a back story….

We have met Chesney’s father, but as my archive is on a drive in my dead computer, I can’t go looking for the strips.

Yes, Chesney, you have (or at least had) a Poppa. You couldn’t have been born without both a mamma and a poppa. None of my cats have ever met their poppas either, but I know they had poppas.

Today is:

NATIONAL SENIOR CITIZENS DAY. According to the strip “Day By Dave” this was on the 19th, but my national holidays email said it’s today. I don’t know which one is right.

My dad died when I was 13, and now as I reach 80, I still miss him. I wonder about all the things he could have told me about life and the world … things I had to find out the hard way. Also, he was a great storyteller … really great!

You definitely had a poppa, Chesney. Maybe one of the reasons you’re such a cranky critter is that you miss him.

Every day i think about papa.

Cats rarely know their poppas. Kittens in the same litter may have different poppas. (Try not to think about that too hard.)

Boy, that really got him thinking. Looks like Chesney might go on a quest to find his Papa. Wonder if he’ll take the tractor again. On another note, saw two juncos, three chickadees, a Steller’s jay, a rabbit, and a robin while out walking today.

Aw, Chesney needs a hug.

I saw a short video in which a dadcat was helping a mamacat by grooming a teeny kitten—only the baby was so light, he accidentally lifted it with his licks =P
