In football, it’s taunt or be taunted.

It is interesting that Sundays have the old comics

Seven yards of the eight yard gain were spent tumbling.

Hobbes should be signed up with the NY Jets—maybe THEN they could win the Super Bowl!

So Hobbes is good at punting and tackling. He must have a bright football career ahead of him!

A whole different ball game

The 10 years are up by now.

Hobbs waited for Calvin to get to the ten yard line so that he (Hobbs) could get a running start.

Calvin “Must engage brain before opening mouth”.

(Like that will ever happen).

Calvin constantly underestimates Hobbes. He was convinced Hobbes would not be able to kick the ball to him and then that Hobbes wasn’t going to try to stop him.

Forget “pro” football! THIS is a game I’d watch! Yea!

Calvinball is one of the toughest game ever.

The kid can catch!!

I guess he forgot how fast tigers can move.

Should have kept quiet……..taunting……..pay back!!!!

Calvin has no real grasp of Hobbes’ capabilities.

Cal failed to remember Tiger Speed. Hobbes is so fast his black stripes replace the orange.

Metaphor for early season games between top ten teams and a div. III team…

“Run Forrest Run!!”…

Grow some more sense! Never bug a tiger :=)

Dick Butkus is Hobbes inspiration

Hi everyone! I’m Midnight Rain. I love Calvin and Hobbes, music including Taylor Swift, travel, Disney, vintage and more.

I used to walk with Kirby (pictured as my avatar) in the redwoods every day, along with Johnny Depp. I lived in a clearing in the woods. When we came back home, I would stop at the edge of the clearing and say, “Kirby. Ready? Go!”

I would run as fast as I could but about 25 yards along, Kirby would pass me and be sitting, grooming at the garden gate, when I caught up with him.

We would look back at Johnny Depp, who preferred not to compete in crowds. “C’mon, Johnny Depp.” Then we would come charging like a tiger to join us seconds later.

Most of my working life I missed reading all these comic strips, they are all new to me most of the time.

Our chief weapon is the element of surprise.

Footballs not really calvin’s thing ! ;-)
