Er, Rozan actually did leave the “guest house”, ostensibly to check out the cars in the parking lot. So either a) this is one of the little narrative inconsistencies that occur in the strip ever so often or b) Diet Smith, for whatever reason, is lying to Tracy. With this strip it could easily be either one.
I think this is one of Curtis’s best stories in years. It’s intelligent, cohesive and interesting. I actually like what l am reading here!
It’s much better than that Coffeehead fiasco…
But, this is a strong story and one l hope Curtis continues with and finishes. This tale has very good suspense thus far and its plot direction seems to be one track. Very good job, Mike Curtis!Plus, Ettinger’s art makes this strip stylishly energetic and sharp. Kudos to him, too!
I was assuming there was the body of a murder victim (perhaps the Governor) in that Egyptian mummy case. Now I’m thinking it is one of Rozie’s live Lunarian henchmen.
“There’s my new specially engineered fly paper on the floor. Makes getting to the bathroom a little TOUGH, but that only gives me another edge on him!”
1- DOIT: The Guest House Cam shows you going in at 2:30AM, Tracy. DT: WHAAAT? DOIT: Wait’ll you see the Bed Cam footage!
2- DT: Uh…I gotta go. I know the way out. DOIT: NOT YET, BUSTER! What did you learn after you pumped Rocks-Anne? For information I mean.
3- DT: Only that he’s changing his name to Rocks-Hudson and that he’s updating Pillow Talk and that I’ll be the perfect replacement for Doris Day! Oh. That reminds me. I’m changing my name to Dick Day – Rocks likes the Double D’s in that change.
DOIT: I don’t believe he does – like Double D’s I mean. DD: Huh? DOIT: Huh?
Broadly, a different topic. I perceive that Mike and Charles team Tracy tends towards settled situations and settling situations. At the moment the only situation I know that could go any direction is Rikki Mortis and Fata Morgana.
I was thinking overnight of ‘Annie’ Warbucks, who is nominally the ward of Oliver Warbucks, but in ‘Little Orphan Annie’ and ‘Annie’ strips was often separated from him and on her own. Would ‘Dick Tracy’ be more interesting with someone, I was thinking a boy a little older than Annie, who shows up as a secondary character in various story arcs. Uncertain who he is descended from. Is often separated from his legal guardian. Gets into different sorts of “hijinks” than Rascal son of Joannie Caucus and Rick Redfern does.

Good morning™, Covert Spyers !
We’ve cast Diet as completely clueless but that is not the case. He is one cagey old boy. Time to cull the thorns off this ‘Roze’.

Jeez, these to wannabe “comedians” shouldn’t quit their day jobs!

Good morning™, all!
So the guest house is under security camera surveillance. I wonder if that’s a new security camera since the time they lost track of him.
I also wonder how you would put a “boot” on a Space Coupe. It doesn’t have tires, of course, so I wonder what would be the best way to lock it down.

Need to be “clamping” down on Ro-Zan as well. With all that tec, attaching a GPS tracker should be no problem…….

Remove the atomic Energizer from the floor of the space coupe. Then it can’t fly.

Another nice Tracy closeup. Between Sunday and today that angle might make a good Ettinger era Sunday Tracy logo pane.

don’t know what it is about Ro-Zan, but he reminds me of Red Meat’s “Milkman Dan”
