Amen to that, Bub. In central VA it’s now 0230 and I am wishing the same. Reminds me of the quote, What’s past is prologue. Does it have to replay side 2 every day?
I used to fall asleep very quickly. I still usually am pretty quick, but staying asleep is the trick now. And it’s almost like clockwork that I wake a 3am and struggle to get back to sleep.
One “trick” I learned last year is to breath out longer than to breath in. Lets say: breath in counting 1-2 and breathing out 1-2-3-4. That is one way to activate the vagus nerve. It is also helpful with dealing with panicking.
There is a wonderful book by James Nestor titled Breath which tells all the wrong ways we breath. The fast inhale and slow exhale (through the nose) is pretty much the proper way to ALWAYS breathe
Wow! I have super power! If I concentrate on certain past events in my life or try to put/picture myself in certain situations, or another person’s life or view, I enter a weird, groggy state and can fall asleep pretty quickly.

Mine would be to not fall asleep when I don’t want to (eg. drowsy driving)

Good one, Jeff especially with the election looming!
I also loved your other toon today about spineless politicians not passing gun control legislation. If anyone should lie awake at night, it’s them!

I spend 4 hours a night playing videos in my mind because it just won’t shut down. I wish there was an on/off switch so my wife could get me right.
