This too shall pass. You need to get your mind off of being sad ~ do something different. Maybe you and Dan need to go visit Mom & Dad. Or go off on a romantic weekend. I know I’m making it sound easy ~ but, I know how hard it is.
Is this from four years ago during covid? Or is something going on now? I hope whatever it is you can work through it. Maybe get out of the house and get some fresh air. That helps my wife and I some, just getting away. Or a trip to DQ, or a kitten.
This week was the year anniversary of my sister’s memorial…I have felt choked with sadness, and everything – even a trip today to see friends haven’t seen in years – feels totally overwhelming and scary. But even without the loss there’s often free-floating sadness… I feel you – you are not alone.
Sadness comes to us, unbidden, a sombre beast, then it lies to us, saying it is a permanent state of being. Lots of care sent your way from our family.
As has already been said above, we’re all with you in our hearts, and minds as we read this. I join you in wishing for more joy in your life, be it a baby, either yours or someone else’s who couldn’t take care of it or give it the love it would receive from you, Dan and the kitties. I know your’re a strong lady and you will persevere no matter what comes your way.
That happens to me often. The brain is an organ just like the heart, liver, stomach and skin are. We don’t blame the individual when that happens the way we often put the blame on depression on the person suffering from it.

Not a doctor, but a patient. Changing meds helped me. And God is listening.

Sounds like depression. Three options. Therapy, pharmaceuticals and exercise. Best result is all three taken together.
