In high school one of our choices for gym class was golf. I am NOT athletic at all so rather than hockey or whatever else was offered I took golf â after all I had played (poorly) miniature golf many times. We played golf in the gym using a small dollâs wig (Tammy size if anyone remembers her) on the floor instead. I was not good at it, but at least I did not have to deal my fear of heights or my trouble running (fat kid, fat adult) so it was relatively fun.
Go ahead about 4 or 5 years and I am dating my husband. His family is going on a trip to a major upstate NY hotel and we went with them. Husband had golf lessons when he was younger as, according to his dad â âone cannot be a businessman without knowing how to play golfâ. (Husband was never a businessman.) So with his classes in same and my playing of doll hair wig playing we went out on the 9 hole course (âNo one who is serious about golf will play there so âweâ wonât bother them.â) to play a game using husbandâs clubs.
Did we do well? Ummm. we lost a hole somewhere, somehow and played 8 holes not 9. He hit the ball far, but curving in one direction or another. I hit the ball straight, but only a shortish distance. But we did have fun and have never again attempted to play golf.

Are those actual golf terms? The only golf Iâve ever played is miniature golf⊠and Iâve never heard those terms there.

Dogleg wouldâve been pretty obvious.

Him working in the garage- a putter, his wife doing the laundry-an iron, his old beat up car-a caddy, his teeth after eating a salad-the green.

I think I figured out most of theze, but what does âcasual waterâ mean?

âTakeawayâ could also have been âsliceâ.

Not a golfer by any means. I recognize all the terms except, âCasual Waterâ?
