I can remember Michael howling the same way about his homework when he was Liz’ age, LOL. And April STILL can’t pronounce her sister’s name correctly??
If you watch tv or movies, you are watching theatre. Glass Onion II was perfect example – catharsis, antagonist, protagonist, hubris, a mystery in 5 acts.
The best and about only thing I learned in high school that was of any use in later life was touch typing. The other thing is Trigonometry, strangely enough. I built things and not carpentry trained. So I needed to calculate angles and lengths of angled sides. Carpenters know how to use measuring tools to calculate them.
At 74 I have to agree a bit with Elisabeth. There is very little I learned in school that I used in life, save for english and math. History – zilch. From physics, I unfortunately re-encounter "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’ like when I stub my toe on something in the dark! The force of impact is equal to my vocal outburst.
Got to agree. Dates associated with dead guys with names ending in -us were definitely the most useless and least-used (as in, “never”) facts I ever wasted time studying.

So dramatic

Does she credit for both the drama here and, if she fails, turning the exam into a tragedy?

Actually, knowing this stuff can be very useful—when doing crossword puzzles or posting messages online.

Seriously. It’s all about who can put on the best act, lol.

Quit your bellyaching! The only reason your whining is because your important homework is sucking away your “precious” me time!

Now I know why Elizabeth went on to become a teacher; so she could make others suffer the misery she suffered!

Well, she’s got “histrionic” down.

SPOILER ALERT
This is made so much funnier by a later strip.
Liz becomes a teacher, and April complains she has “gone over to the enemy”
