I used mine to check for counterfeit money. Much faster than a marking pen (which can be fooled). Before I got it I got be pretty fast a flipping bills as I checked the telltales. Doing it once in front of a young cashier who asked what I was doing. Showed her the marks on new printed money. No one had ever shown her!

Black lights are fun!

Black light will show you when the skin of a banana is about to go spotty. You’ll see bright dots.

It can also show where the ‘accidents’ happened. Owned a carpet cleaning company, used BL’s all the time to fix our furry friends little spots.

One of the things they can do is harm your eyes.They also kill some germs.

I had a black light growing up back in the 70s and posters that would glow. That was pretty high tech back then!

For one thing, it makes aspirin glow! Also, any little bit of lint.

It makes your teeth glow, but don’t shine it on your face if you’re over 25. Any sun damage glows too!

Look for scorpions!

I hope we see our flying squirrel again. We need more squirrels in the comics.

I am very sad because my squirrel friend is definitely gone. I met her in the spring several years ago. She must have been an autumn baby because she was so tiny. She was a young mother and was having a very hard time of it, being just fur and bones. I felt sorry for her and gave her some of my walnuts that I always carry as I walk in the park for several hours and like a snack. She always remembered me.

She could spot me from a block away and would come running. She would find me a few times a week. She would sit next to me on my favorite bench and we would eat walnuts together.

I have never seen a flying squirrel in the wild. I guess their habitat is somewhere other than my vicinity.

Only Kate can make the “scary illumination” become funny.

Black lights cause scorpions to glow in the dark. I find that handy.

Kate’s blacklight bulb must be an LED.

I had a black light bulb back in the late 1970s, mainly for illuminating posters. Those old incandescent blacklight bulbs got extremely hot. My friend borrowed it for his haunted house, and the bulb was ruined when it melted a vinyl mask he placed in front of it.
