I’m sorry to say I think Caulfield has a significant point. Lucky us, we don’t rent storage… we OWN storage, having remodeled twice to give ourselves more room. And moved the cars out of the garage too.
Displays should suit the attitude of the homeowner as to how to celebrate any holiday. Some ‘dress up’ their homes for every national day. Others put on some small decoration and are satisfied. Still others do nothing overt but keep the days’ memories in their hearts.
Whatever works, we wish each of you peace, good health, and long life.
I put my Christmas stuff up ‘early.’ You know, the rest of the world doesn’t have Thanksgiving. It’s an arbitrary rule, like wearing white after Labor Day.
Monday was the 25th, so a month before Christmas is definitely not “too soon”. Also it’s now been snowing since Thanksgiving, so if you waited you get to decorate in this crap. Also, why shouldn’t people decorate when they want to
I’m sorry to see one so young using vulgar language (actually, I hate it in anyone.) I notice that, along with the rest of our society, one of the last refuges from that society, the comics, are going for crude language and imagery and potty humor. Very disheartening.

How are the temperature and the status of decorations related?

Xmas lights are cheerful. What’s wrong with that?
Tallguy about 2 months ago
The lights can go up but they don’t get turned on until Santa shows up in the Macy’s parade. Without rules we live with the animals.

In Western PA folks put up decorations early, taking advantage of any warm-ish day in late November.

The weather isn’t staying warmer later. At least not in most places. Your local weather may vary.

Down the street from us, some neighbors put out Halloween stuff. It clashes well with THEIR neighbors, who put up Christmas stuff.

We don’t need storage, we have all the displays that we need for each holiday, pack sloppily into a single moving box, each. Down in the basement.

When they stow all the Xmas stuff, what do they put out for Martin Luther King Day?

“Also, why shouldn’t people decorate when they want to?” Agreed, and not just when… if.

Well now at long last we finally know why. Mystery solved!

Those are treasures from another time, later they’ll bring you warmth and memories.

Day after Thanksgiving, the D-I-L got the Winter Solstice decorations out of the shop.
Of course, as there are a 7-y-o & two 5-y-os in the house, that was a mistake; they went up as the Thanksgiving decorations came down….
