I wonder if Charlie Brown can swim.

I nearly drowned.

Years have too much chlorine.

At least he didn’t drown.

Someone opened the drain. Made for a hard landing from the high dive.

At least nobody put any piranhas in the pool.

How can a year be like a swimming pool? The year begins in January and ends in December.

I guess the December 26, 1977 Peanuts strip was the one that got skipped and replaced by a 1970 strip thanks to Andrews-McMeel a few weeks ago. Maybe A-M didn’t rerun it because of mentioning of a “FAT KID” with a pencil that might be POLITICALLY INCORRECT or something like that?

Life is like a box of chocolates. Take a bite. If you don’t like it, put it back in the box and choose another.

How was my year? A lot of flailing around trying to keep my head above water.

I don’t swim very well.

Next year will be like jumping into a boiling hot swimming pool.

I’ve had years like that, just keep paddlin kid ! ;-)

Not a bad analogy.

The next one will be worse, though.

I could not swim when I was in my early teens and one day my best buddy and I went to a creek and went swimming, I was wading and got tired so I thought I was in shallow water but sank to the bottom could not hold my breath and passed out, my buddy pulled me out. I can swim very well now and I am not afraid of drowning but trapped in a fire scares the beejeezus out of me.

Wasn’t really sure I was getting out of the 2024 pool… the pools seem to be getting wider every year!

Don’t be so down Chuck. Think of it as a benevolent power parting the troubled waters so you could walk dry-shod to the next year.

Having read the Big Nate comment section not too long ago, i can say that Peanuts is THE chillest section.
