Hobbes would get the remote control but that would mean walking all the way to it.

As a kid, I discovered that some TV shows that were on before the ones I wanted to watch were pretty good in themselves. For example: THE REAL McCOY’S used to air just before my fave ZORRO, and I came to like it.

A variety of potato called Couches Calvinius.

What do you want the remote for? It just means you’ll have to expend all that effort pushing the buttons.

Wait for a good show to come on, that may be a long wait Calvin.

Be usefull as well as decorative

No way Hobbes saying anytheeng to mom as he turn into stuffed toy when anyone else except Calvin be around.

Ooh! Sin of Sloth! Santa is so gonna remember that!

Calvin, you ARE the remote control (for your parents).

Holiday depression???

the older i get, the more i represent that line of reasoning!

Here’s a smart remark, Calvin – “Turn off the TV”

How many bowls of chocolate frosted sugar bombs did he have this Saturday morning?

Don’t the networks have rules about good shows?

Calvin is channeling his Inner Garfield.

It’s better to ask a brilliant child if he wants to work outside.

It’s best to tell a lethargic child he is going to work inside.

Yet Calvin will spend hours and hours building several creatively rendered snowmen (including "snow goons), engaging in “archeological digs”, building a snow fort, etc.

I know this feeling intimately.

Calvin is in training for becoming an old man.

Calvin… couch potato in training.

Calvin needs to recharge.

If Hobbes spoke to his mom, she’d FREAK .

Jabba’s exercise regimen.

Calvin is not in a very good mood. For him anyway.

Those were the days, when I actually wanted to watch TV

My Mom would have thrown his coat and hat out the door, even if it were snowing, and he would go next.

That sums up how I feel in the summer when I think about having to put on sunscreen only to have to wash it off when I return. But it’s not enough to keep me from getting off my butt and doing it all anyway.

Hobbes should throw something at him and run out.

Having lived where it snowed I can say that snow can only be appreciated from indoors.

annnnd let the sitting olympics begin!

So that’s where all the kids are these days. Sure don’t see them climbing trees or riding bikes.

What would be the fun in that?

This strip was decades ahead of society.

Always more fun to go out and play!
