It’s a start Brutus.

My mother always asks if she can order off the children’s menu, even if no such menu exists. Even the Senior menu is too much for her. And yes, they always tell her she is free to order from the kids menu if she likes. A veiled threat not to return if she cannot do so usually does the trick, if necessary. (If at Denny’s* for example, say, “Remember at IHOP? THEY let you order whatever you want.”)

*Disclaimer: Denny’s is used as an example. They are always accommodating to mom’s needs.

We had a manager who would invite people (usually two or more at a time) out to lunch… but at the end he’d “get a phone call he had to take” and skip out… leaving the employees to pay for the lunch including his…
