Make the bed, unmake the bed, make the bed, unmake the bed. Over and over and over again. Why? Another insanity, fertilize and water the lawn, cut the lawn, etc. etc. Sisyphus would be proud!!

It never ends! Make the bed, take a bath. Then next month you have to do it again.

New year, some old tyrannical slave driver who don’t know how to mind her own business… I mean who cares if the beds aren’t made. Kids have a life too, you know!!

You have no choice but to go on strike, kids. Be sure to get Wren on board.

Actually, making a bed as soon as you’re out of it is not the greatest idea. Better would be to throw the covers back and let it air out for a while – like after breakfast. Mom’s wrong!

Fourth panel – Hammie and Zoe joint speech bubble – “That means getting up earlier which means going to bed earlier. ARG!”

Making your bed as soon as you wake up locks in moisture that we lose while we sleep, which creates the perfect setting for dust mites to repopulate. Dust mites are microscopic pests that feed on our dead, shed skin (yuck), and can even cause asthma and other allergies.

I’m texting this to Zoe and Hammie

Yep, starts early. The older you get, the more you can just sit around remembering all the golden hours: ski school, fishing, riding the old snowmobile dad fixed up, learning to drive with the other kids in Driver’s Ed…

Nothing to do with the New Year. You’re how old? Eight? Ten? Make your own bed. Every day.

Dad was former military, and he demanded his command, us, to be ready for inspection at any time. Crazy memories.

I already made my bed once. Right after it was delivered from Ikea.

I don’t NEED to make it again.

“Those were the days, my friend

    We thought they’d never end

We’d sing and dance forever and a day

We’d live the life we choose

    We’d fight and never lose

For we were young and sure to have our way"

In my mom’s house the bed was made ‘before’ breakfast, as soon as I got up, before my shower.
