Have any of you heard of the 1962 Laughter Epidemic of Tanganyika? It began in a girls’ school, and it ended up affecting around a thousand people and lasting several months. That’s the first thing I thought of when I read this strip.

I find that a lot of comedians are not really that funny, but there are a few that very often are. However, every once in a while, a comedian says something that really sets me off and it’s really difficult to stop laughing for a while. Every time I stop, I remember it again and it sets me off again. Fortunately (or not) that doesn’t happen very often. So I can understand this cartoon completely
