It’s not like he can change the answer now., that is a little over thought out.

I feel that was a very strange train of thought she just expressed. I wonder what led her to the conclusion that her principles were being infringed?

I strongly suspect Carla thinks she bungled number 7 and doesn’t want to give Kevin a chance to laugh at her answer.

I like how Carla thinks… and overthinks.

    Carla,

    Math skills – Adequate (maybe)

Critical Thinking Skills – See teacher after class for extra homework

Then there are kids who can’t show how they did the math on the test because their brains work differently. I used to think there was something wrong with me because I could do the math but I couldn’t show on the paper how I did it, I found my tribe, there are other people like me, I am not dumb,

Oddly I could explain how to do the math to other kids, who got good grades, but for some reason I couldn’t do it myself.

I can’t even remember what question number seven was. How can I remember what I answered?

She says she studied really hard to arrive at her answers.

Is she accusing him of not having studied really hard?

If he’s not as good at this subject as she is, it doesn’t necessarily mean he hasn’t been working hard at it. You can only work with the abilities you have.

Carla is just reminding Kevin that, with his learning disabilities, he should be studying as hard as she does instead of asking what answers were.

Carla, I don’t think Kevin is putting you in an awkward position. You are an awkward position.

I’d accuse Carla of being a larval lawyer… but no lawyer would speak unironically about principles.

I think asking after a test if your answer was right is just fact-checking, not asking for a handout.
