My New Year’s resolution is to allow other people to be the jerks. There are enough of them that I do not have to do that job. I’ll be nice to them and it will confound them.

Who knows? Maybe some niceness will rub off?

Can kindness and compassion be contagious? Let’s try it and find out.

Sadly those are all may be simple words unless you are one of the newly targeted communities living in America in the next few weeks. Then you might need to say “nope,” “close” and “hide” when the promised deportation/social enforcement police come knocking at your door. Will neighbors turn neighbors in? History will tell.

During breakfast this morning I watched the beginning of the Vatican Christmas Eve Mass which I had recorded. It started with the Pope opening the 25 year jubilee door. The action moved at glacial speed, as expected, but I enjoyed the music.
