I have tinnitus. I’m so used to it that the only time I’m really aware of it is when I can’t understand someone (especially a tech support person to whom English is obviously a second language). And sometimes when it’s really quite I hear it. LIke now.
I’m blaming VERY loud music back in the ’70s. It started maybe 15 years after that. When I first heard it, I went around all the different rooms, and outside, and finally realized it was coming from inside my head.
It’s better than being deaf. And hearing aids do help.
I sometimes have tinnitus in my left ear. When it happens, I must put my phone in my right ear, which feels a bit uncomfortable. Probably going to a different brain block or something…

It’s tough to believe I don’t know of any remedy for tinnitus; that’s why I have 5 years of tinnitus experience under my skull.

For those who don’t know, tinnitus is a ringing in the ears, and I for one don’t know how to answer it.

I suspect it may be worst after prolonged exposure to white noise, such as the fan of the computer. I’d better get off and shut it down now.

I’m fortunate that mine’s only triggered by certain sounds at the right frequency/amplitude, and just sounds like a loose speaker wire in my ear.
